March - 620 Pushups and Jogging Challenge: can you consistently do 20 pushups per day and go jogging?

 

This isn't about pushing yourself beyond your limits. It's about seeing if you can consistently do exercise each day.

 

You can do the pushups at any point in the day, even a few each waking hour.

​

One dad might do 10 pushups before jogging, go jogging, then do the other 10 pushups.

 

Another dad might do 5 pushups at four different times of the day and then jog in the evening.

 

Can you juggle all your family and other responsibilities and get the pushups and jogging done?

 

Each participant is encouraged to check with their doctor and/or health/fitness professional to ensure that this exercise is OK for them.

Ottawa Dads Walking Club (ODWC) is a non-profit community group founded by local dad Nathan Morris.

 

Nathan founded ODWC in January 2022 after he realized that fathers needed opportunities to get exercise and hang out with other dads. He posts about parenting at fitness on Twitter as @FitFather50s.

To participate in the weekly Zoom "accountability club" calls and do Zoom calls to participate in the monthly challenges, dads need to apply for free membership.

​

Screening criteria for ODWC membership: applicants must be fathers (or grandfathers) and they must attend a five-minute Zoom interview and agree to follow the ODWC's four rules:

 

respect for others; maintain confidentiality; respect time limits; and stay on ODWC topics (parenting, fitness, health, and personal growth goals).
